It works well when you import and start editing your 4K videos though sometimes it may slow up the preview speed of the edited video.ģD VideoPowerDirector also has the capability to edit and create 3D videos which when rendered you can watch using 3D glasses. Now in the age of 4K, it is necessary that you have the capability to work with 4K videos in your editing tool. ![]() Most of the time you have to buy a separate software just for screen recording, but now PowerDirector has it all in one package.ĤK EditingThe world of technology is attaining giant leaps when it comes to resolution every now and then. You can use PowerDirector to record your screen and in this way create gameplay videos or instructional videos and upload them online. Screen RecordingScreen recording is one of the important things for many today. It will create and render a movie right away with the contents you provided. You just have to select the images and videos to be used in your final video, select a template and do some customization according to your interest and PowerDirector will do the next steps for you. You can get into this mode when you start the application. So, let's dive straight into the features of this amazing video editing software.įeaturesThe following are the features of Cyberlink PowerDirector 14 Ultimate.Įxpress ProjectOne of the coolest features of PowerDirector is an option called Express Project. This can be a starting point of your editing journey. One of the coolest things I like about PowerDirector is that it is easy to use and even a beginner in video editing business can understand the interface and get started. You can try it and see whether it is the one you need. Cyberlink PowerDirector is available as a 30-day trial for download at its official website which adds their watermark when you export your video. Some of the features added are 4K editing and motion tracking which can help you create videos like the other competing video editing software out there. The point I wanted to highlight is the pricing policy which doesn't make sense.Īn interesting thought: Are you prepared to pay nearly £20 more the Ultra edition when you can have the Deluxe for less? Do you really have that BluRay disk writer in place to justify going for the Ultra edition? Just a thought.IntroductionCyberlink has released PowerDirector 14 Ultimate with some new fun features that will add more colors to your video editing productions. How can this be an upgrade? I shouldn't expect to pay more than a fiver for upgrading Deluxe to Ultra and not even ready to do that anyway. ![]() When you want to upgrade the Deluxe edition to Ultra (the only difference being authoring BluRay disc in Ultra for which the world is not yet ready anyways - as hobbyist I'd wait a couple of years before venturing into this), Cyberlink wants you to buy the Ultra at full price. You'll also find numerous video tutorials on YouTube (link provided on cyberlink website) which will save your valuable time in learning video editing, noting that the software already has a more intuitive interface.Īnother annoyance? The price differential between Deluxe and Ultra editions on Cyberlink's own website is £2.50 (though a bit more expensive than Amazon's). It is not perfect, but very usable indeed, and way ahead of the competition (most of which I know first hand). PowerDirector 8 even allows you to create a DVD with a subtitle should you really need it. Considering the troubles and tribulations you would be subjected to with video editors from other competitors, PowerDirector is top of its league (meaning relatively less hassle to get those video collections on DVDs or whatever). I am almost an expert in trying out video editors (sub £100 budget class, that is). I also tried Nero (I think 3 different versions) and lately Adobe Elements 8 as trial. I started with Pinnacle, then Roxio (I think tried 4 versions and demanded a refund for ver 8 and 9), then tried Ulead VideoStudio (now owned by Corel). I say "subsidised" to mean paying for a product that didn't work. Like many users, over the last decade or so, I have "subsidised" the video editing software industry. On a positive side for PowerDirector 8, I can say it is an outstanding budget class video editing tool. I hope Cyberlink will desist such practice. Even giants in the software industry are very wary of doing such things because it can easily get them into trouble. To my knowledge they didn't even get my consent at any stage of the installation for the software to communicate with their server and show the ads. How Cyberlink uses my "Screen Space" - my private space - for paid-for software for their commercial end is despicable. Otherwise I would have given the 5 stars without any hesitation. The shameless built-in Ad is the most annoying thing about this software. ![]()
